Danish AI supercomputer set to accelerate digitalization and the use of AI among Danish companies with new partnership

Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI) and TDC Erhverv are launching a new go-to-market collaboration aimed at transforming the AI landscape for Danish businesses and public institutions. By joining forces, DCAI and TDC Erhverv are uniting their technological expertise and infrastructure to deliver a groundbreaking solution that provides unprecedented access to one of the world’s most advanced AI supercomputers - Gefion – while companies maintain full control and ownership over their data.

More than half of Danish companies expect AI to play a decisive role in the future. Yet only 1 in 4 companies have managed to implement AI to some degree – and fewer than 10% to a high or very high degree, according to a recent survey from TDC Erhverv.

Barriers such as costly hardware investments, lack of expertise, and uncertainty about data sovereignty often hinder AI adoption. At the same time, companies and public institutions face a wave of new regulations such as NIS2, the AI Act, and the Cyber Resilience Act, which impose stricter requirements for cybersecurity, risk management, and responsible AI. These challenges have become significant obstacles to innovation – risking delays in digitalization and weakening Denmark’s future competitiveness.

The new partnership between TDC Erhverv and DCAI is designed to remove these challenges and empower companies of all sizes to accelerate digital transformation, foster innovation, and address the growing regulatory and security demands in an AI-driven economy.

By combining DCAI’s state-of-the-art AI capabilities with TDC Erhverv’s industry-leading CloudKey® encryption technology and comprehensive advisory services, the collaboration ensures that Danish organizations can confidently and without compromise adopt next-generation AI solutions.

“Gefion is among the few AI supercomputers in the world – and the only one of its kind located in Denmark. Our mission is to give companies, researchers, and public institutions access to the GPU power needed to drive the next generation of innovation. Through our partnership with TDC Erhverv, we are able to bring the groundbreaking capabilities of Gefion to the forefront of Danish innovation. TDC’s extensive reach and trusted technology solutions allow us to introduce Gefion’s advanced GPU power to a wider audience of businesses and public institutions” says Nadia Carlsten, CEO of DCAI.

John Henriksen, CEO at TDC Erhverv, says:
“With this partnership, we are giving Danish companies and public authorities access to world-class GPU power – on Danish terms. The combination of Gefion’s AI supercomputer and TDC Erhverv’s CloudKey® technology means we can deliver a comprehensive solution, where sovereign compute power is combined with compliance, control and ownership of data built in from the start,” says John, and continues:

“It is not just about delivering raw computing power, but about creating a secure foundation where innovation can thrive without compromise – and where Danish organizations can focus on growth and development rather than regulation. We are therefore very pleased with this collaboration, which marks an important step towards supporting and strengthening Denmark’s position as a digital frontrunner.”

With Gefion as the foundation and TDC Erhverv as an end-to-end technology partner, Danish businesses, researchers, and public authorities gain access to more than world-class AI power. As part of the partnership, TDC Erhverv provides expert advisory services and protects corporate networks with everything from dedicated data connections to tailored cyber and security solutions (including DNS protection, documentation, and monitoring of data and data access). This enables Danish businesses to innovate with confidence—without compromise.
